1st Grade Homeroom Offering

1ST GRADE HOMEROOM -  Stacy Kangar

This year in the First-grade homeroom class we will make our way through the school year in classic unit study style.  We will be spending 4-6 weeks on each topic. Some of our topics will be community helpers,  planting and how seeds grow, and folk tales to name a few.  We will continue to build on skills that have been learned in previous years. Beginning phonics and handwriting will be something that we work on each week.  My thoughts in teaching this class was to create what I wish had been available for my kiddos when they were this age.   Not every 6/7-year-old is ready to go class to class with many different teachers.  My hope is that this class will be something that your children can enjoy, relax in, have fun with friends, and at the same time work on some focused learning at age-appropriate levels.
